The Reason I Don't Vote Anymore

Mid-term elections are coming up here in the United States, in early November. This is where SOME of Congress is either re-elected, or somebody new comes in. Depending on the state, some of Congress are elected mid-term to the Presidents term, and some are elected at the same time when a new President is elected.

I've not went and voted in years. Yes, I am able to get out and vote... I just don't. People say.."Don't be bitching when the government doesn't work then". That is an absolutely totally fair and maybe right thing to say, but..hear me out first.

I don't vote cause the government really doesn't do anything, except maybe bitch among themselves. Some new guy gets in there; it isn't long before he or she is as crooked as the rest of them. Power-hungry, money-hungry people who only think of their own interests, most of the time.

Yes, there are a few good one's who really do want to do good for the whole country...but only a few. But there's alot more who are in it for their bank accounts.

There are alot of millionaires in Congress. Now where do you think all that "extra" money came from? Not from paychecks, that's for sure. A person in Congress only makes about between 200 thousand to maybe 300 thousand a year.

They CAN make 3 or 4 million thru multiple terms. But not multi-millions in just 1 year. This is where the I think it comes from..."under the table" payments from lobbying groups/foreign investors...vote one way on a bill, and the bank account gets a little fatter...or, inside trading on stocks they sell before the market takes a nose-dive.

So...until they, as a group, can show me they can do things to benefit: WE THE PEOPLE...I ain't voting. THEY work for us... not us working for them. Every election, we "hire" them to do a job. Every campaign year is like the job interview.

They file their intent in running for office, this is like them filling out an application for a job. The time on the campaign trail is like the employer/employee interview at the CEO's office. WE are the CEO's. So far, there's alot of them I wouldn't be hiring for my company, if I had one.

Until next time... Reply via email
