What to Write...that is the question
At my age of 70 something years old, I wanted to start writing down stuff...my thoughts on everyday things, on family, on politics...anything that comes across my little pea-brain.
I've journaled before, but it just never stuck. I'd write for a few months, then slowly get out of it. Mostly just of not having much to say that other people haven't already said somewhere else.
I grew up in a small farming town, small farming family, just my parents and younger sister...no brothers. When the barn was empty of livestock, it became my playground. The cow stalls with the short beams across the top were make believe horses. There was a big open part, and an enclosed section. Then, when more livestock came in...it was time for work, helping my father tend to the cows or pigs...whatever livestock we had at the time.
My sister would never go out into the barn WITH the livestock...lol. But me?.. I'd be the second one out the door, right behind my father! Yeah, I was the tomboy of the family... the feral child. That lasted for awhile tho....untill about halfway thru Jr High ( now called middle school )
I write mostly late at night, when the house is quiet. There are times tho, when I think on something, I just HAVE to write it down right then-n-there. I also like to think of myself as an independent thinker, my own opinion, my own conclusions of stuff. I won't argue opinions...I just think..ok, thats YOUR opinion, thats ok, fine by me, and I'll probably just walk away.
I love a good "rabbit-hole" to dig thru, to research on. I love it when you have more questions on something, than you have answers for. I am also working on my family genealogy...for myself, and for my Grandkids.
And... I also have my own "coulda, shoulda, woulda's" like alot of other people. I do have 1 regret tho... my 10 wasted years. ( mid 1970's thru to mid 80's.) But, I've also made my peace with it. It took alotta years to make my peace. I can see now, how my life turned out, as opposed to what "coulda" been.
I'll be writing more... just stay tuned!
