Who Do You Write For?

....yourself, or for the readers...or do you write to get something off your chest, as we say. I think I do all of it. I'd prefer handwriting tho, but in my living situation right now, keeping a paper journal seems nearly impossible. I've ran out of hiding places for stuff...lol. Nobody knows the password for the laptop, I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing...should anything happen to me.

I write mostly for my kids/gr-kids, altho they're grown now. I'd like to leave something behind of how things were for me, personally. They can find how things were for the general public anytime, on the internet.

In my intro post, I mentioned that I enjoy doing the genealogy of my family. I just wished somebody had left a journal or something behind, to see how life was for them, personally. I'm now finding out, they weren't much for writing stuff down for future generations.

Oh, I have old pictures of some of them...Grandparents, Great--Grandparents, yes...even a few pic's of great-great Grandparents, and a few of the old tin pictures. But that's it...pictures, no journals, no writings of how things were "back in the day".

I guess, as we got into the early years of the 20th century, life got a bit busy...no time for writing much down. Industry was booming, new and different jobs were popping up...life had shifted into a faster gear.

So....who do you write for??? Until next time... Reply via email
